It finally happened...

I got engaged...

That's right. I had to go and ruin it, lol.

My girlfriend...I mean, fiance and I have been dating for almost 4 years and we recently bought a house together. The only thing that was missing was the proposal. On Friday, I finally did it though (that's why I was missing for most of the day from here).

So, we think we're setting the date for next July to get married. My fiance is a school teacher so if we want to do our honeymoon, we need to do it over the summer.

So, just thought I would pass along the news that my life is officially over.

Well since hes a homeowner, dog owner, and now soon to be married, theres only one thing left to do! HAVE KIDS

Ah, the kids thing is still a few years away. I'm 25 now and the fiance is 24. After we're married, we aren't even going to think about kids for at least 3 - 3 1/2 years. Then, at that point, I'm sure there's some kind of herbal tea you can drink to lower your sperm count. Maybe I'll just down cases of Mtn. Dew. In middle school we used to believe that lowered sperm count.

She's been waiting for it for a while. I saved up some money and got the ring and then called her parents last week and asked for permission. On Friday, I had her mom come and pick her up to get her out of the house. I left work early and went to the florist and a craft store to get some supplies.

After going back home alone, I put rose petals leading from the door to the dining room table. Found some pictures off of my fiance's facebook page to show you. Feel free to use this idea...just send me a check for 1,200 bucks for using my idea. Ok, flowers leading to the dining room...and that's not my game setup there in the living room. That's my old 20 gig xbox that I gave Reilly to watch DVD's on and the Wii I gave her (since I never played it). My old tv too. Damn, she gets all my old stuff.

then when we got to the dining room table, there was a heart in flower petals on the floor for her to stand in...









On the table, was the following....(minus the boxes in the back, I was still setting up)

Ok, so in box 1 was a love note. At the end of the note was "move onto box number 2". In box number 2 was an empty cigarette pack with a promise that I would quit smoking in September, something Reilly has been on me for years. It's going to be tough, but I know I can do it. Anyways, after that, it said go to box 3. In box 3, which was shaped like a ring, said "say out loud how much you love me." This sounds cheesy, but the reason I needed to do this was because I was hiding in the kitchen and couldn't tell what box she was on. When she did this, I came out of the kitchen, got down on my knee, and proposed. She said yes (which was a given...she's been bugging me for a year, lol.) Well, she turned on the waterworks x1000. Lol.

Here's the ring...

She loved it. So, married life, here I come. She wants the wedding to be held next summer in July.
