If you don't know what the show is about, then listen up: Penn and Teller, two very popular - and very funny - magicians host a show that basically rips apart popular myths, beliefs, concepts... etcetera. The show begins with the same opening for each topic. Penn begins the show with a foreward, followed by, "That's why <Topic> is Bullshit."
I just finished watching one of the newer episodes on violent videos games - which they proclaimed as bullshit - and... I can't even describe it. Please, you owe it to yourselves to watch this episode in it's entirety. I won't lie, the final scene almost had me near tears. Do you know aspect of video games makes *me* want to violently murder someone? Jack Thompson and all the other right-wing assholes. If you're a kid, and you can't distinguish between reality and fantasy, then maybe you should have that bullet in your brain afterall. EDIT: Oh, well... Copyright claims... You can still try YouTube to see them, or if you have Showtime, check it out OnDemand. |

Wow, they really went all out with this. They even got Jack Thompson. That's the BEST person they could have gotten. No matter what that guy says, it will always make video game fans look better than him.
Although, they did find that one dude "fuck yeah, I love killing zombies and shit." Seriously? Who let him into the convention hall? I watched the first part so far, going to watch the other two during lunch. So far I've seen a lot of Call of Duty, Band of Brothers, and FEAR 1 in the show. They are pretty mild compared to some of the games out there. Wonder if they will hit on Postal. |

Violent video games are not the cause of aggression. They do not isolate people and make them anti-social psychopaths. They are not effective teachers of real violence, or how to handle weaponry. The problem here is that the people who are against it assume all kids/teens cannot tell fantasy from reality.

Those videos above are no longer available due to a copyright claim by CBS.
I was actually going to watch all of them because I've heard lots about Penn & Teller and I saw Teller on "Friends" and "Futurama".
