I just need to vent for a second...
Ok, let me explain Reilly and I's situation. We bought a house a couple months ago and updated our taxes so we would get the first time home buyers tax refund this year. The tax refund is $8,000. We re-submitted our taxes back in June and got a letter from the IRS in late July saying that the check was on it's way. This is all standard. The only issue about the letter that came to us, it was addressed to our old place (where we rented) and we don't live there anymore. It was forwarded, so we assumed the check would be too. Push forward a month, no check. It's now late August and we haven't seen anything. The check was supposed to be there a month ago. We call the IRS and find out, yes it was sent and, "No, sir...the check would never be sent to your old address." Fine, we waited another couple weeks. No check... Finally, last night, we get an email from our old landlord saying, "Found a tax refund check for Reilly, where should I send it." We emailed this asshat a month ago. He has had it all that time, he just decided to send it. We're incredibly thankful we have the check now and we can finally do the home improvements on the house, but now we have to call the IRS and cancel the search on the check, etc. etc. etc. Ugh. I hate landlords. I'm so glad I never have to deal with another one. Ok, that's my rant for this morning. |

Oh wow. Atleast your getting it even though it's late. That stinks tho. Another reason why IRS sucks; they lie... lol.

I know. They should have had this documented. Where did you send the $8000 check? To location A or location B? Easy shit...come on now.

Lmao. "easy shit" haha. you should give an anonymous review or complaint if you can. Then again, if that was possible, it would be VERY full. haha

We tried to find somewhere to review him before but he's a private owner. We rented his house. He's not a building landlord like he owns an apartment complex. It was his old house. So, no where to really do that at. He's been a horrible landlord since day 1 though. Out of the year we lived their, on 4 different occasions we went without running water for anywhere from 3 to 7 days. The first couple times we thought it was just because it was cold, but when it was only us and not our neighbors, we realized it was the pipes and shoddy construction. In the end, he did nothing about it...rented out the house as soon as we left to. Fixed nothing.
