Xbox 360 lag issues!

Ok ive had my xbox for about 2 years now I can't take it. I've opened my NAT by turning on DMZ in my router(Vonage VWR router from d-link). On my wireless connection it says that my speed is 54.0 Mbps. My signal strength is 4 bars out of 5. Ive been having no issues for about 3 months until it randomly started lagging again in Halo. Every game in halo i lag.

To get internet connection I connected my xbox to my computer(which wirelessly connects to my home network) using an ethernet cable. If anyone else knows or does this can they tell me what settings im supposed to put for network settings in the xbox because automatic is not working. Only manual can work. I dont know what to put in the IP address box and all the other boxes.

Also if anyone knows any tips to making the lag stop please tell me.

First thing is to check your internet connection... make sure your connection is open and not getting bogged down by something. Go to this website and run a speed test from the closest city to you. Then post the speed test results here and let me know what kind of connection you have (DSL? Cable?)

My results from the site were:

Download Speed: 10827 kbps (1353.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1203 kbps (150.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

So it's not your connection speed... maybe try to run that speed test the next time you see lag in Halo. Maybe their servers just stink or the persons connection who is host.
