![]() In case you aren't aware of the service that Goozex provides, let me be the first person to welcome you to the Gamestop alternative. Goozex.com is a website where you list games you want to trade and wait. People then browse the games, find something they like, and if they have enough points, they click the "Want It" button and an email is sent to you. The email sent to you basically says "So and so wants this game, click accept to send it out." If you accept, you get the points, they get the game. With your new found points, you can now go out and "buy" games with your points. The system is awesome and works well for older games that aren't extremely popular. Just don't expect to get MW2 or Assassin's Creed 2 anytime soon. Ok, so what gives? Why am I talking about Goozex? For starters, I think it's an awesome site more people need to be aware of, but second is that they are now waiving the free to trade games for college students. The fee, a measly $1, is charged to the person "buying" the game. You buy trade credits via the site, usually in bunches of 5. So, $5 gives you the ability to trade for 5 games. Goozex has now waived this fee if you sign up or currently use an email address that ends in a .edu. Pretty cool way to get some press coverage while also allowing college kids to spent the extra $5 a month on booze. If you're interested in the site, let me know. If you're currently in college, the extra $1 a month looks enticing does it? http://www.goozex.com/referral.asp?idr=6128887387678 |

Wow never heard of this site before but it sounds like a genius idea. Is the postage prepaid by the site or do we ship via shipping service?

So you basically just trade games? For free? What if you decide to trade games with someone and the other person doesn't send their game to you, but you send yours to them?

I've been on goozex for over a year and have done at least 30-40 trades. Out of all this time, I've had one issue where a dude gave his wrong address and the package was returned. I spoke to goozex and told them I wasn't paying for shipping again, they agreed, let me keep the points (even though I kept the game too) and gave me an extra trade point. They make so much money off those $1 trades that it's nothing for them. All in all, it's a really safe site...tight knit community too. |
