Video Games Throughout the Remainder of the Year

So, we're halfway through November. Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age Origins, and most of the other big name games have already been released. With only a month and a half until Q1 2010 begins, what are you guys looking to play? Any other games coming out that you are excited about?

Over the weekend I did some cleaning in my basement and came across some old games I haven't touched in about a year. These were games like "Rockstar Table Tennis", "Infinite Undiscovery", "Eternal Sonata", etc. I decided to trade them in to Gamestop to see if I could muster up enough money to preorder Left 4 Dead 2 and pay it off. Well, much to my surprise, they had a deal going where you got an extra 40% trade in value with 5 or more games. Ended up with $130 in store credit and enough to pay off Left 4 Dead 2 AND Assassin's Creed 2.

I was so excited, I came home and emailed my boss telling him I'm taking a personal day on Tuesday. I'm thinking about going to the midnight opening tonight for both games.

So, there's the rest of my year until X-Mas. I had enough to last me prior to trading in for those two games, but now I have more. What about you guys? What's going to last you until Chrismahannakwanza or the new year? Or, if you haven't picked something up already, what are you asking for the holidays from friends and family?

guitar hero are just milking the money cow now, its just getting ridiculous. They keep bringing out these different band versions, lets just hope they dont ruin dj hero by bringing out another version of it.

I feel the same way. I hate the music games and the way they keep pumping them out. Activision tried something new with DJ Hero, but so far, the game has been a flop with sales. I found this article over the weekend about why DJ Hero didn't sell. It's pretty interesting. Innovating problems: why DJ Hero flopped - Ars Technica

It also means that since Activision wasn't able to mix it up with a new peripheral, we'll be seeing more guitar games

Anyways, what games you playing towards the end of the year?

I really dont want to see anymore guitar hero games or i'll loose it.

Hopefully should be getting modern warfare 2 soon, possibly assasins creed 2 ( not too sure tho ) and might be getting dj hero around christmas time. Should be good as i havent treated myself to a new game in a while

I will be playing Modern Warfare 2 for a while, but in addition to that I'd like to set aside some time for Dragon Age Origins, Borderlands and Assassins Creed 2.

Before we know it, BioShock 2 will be here next year, so I will try to at least get to Dragon Age Origins and Assassins Creed 2 before then. Borderlands may or may not get the time needed for it. Well see how addicted I really get to MW2.

im obviously gunna play MW2 for awhile but ill be gettin L4D2 on thursday i think so ill run through the campaign on that over the weekend probably and then get back to MW2

Ok, I'm half asleep right now, but I told myself I'd do the midnight opening. Lol, I feel like I'm in college again. Took off work tomorrow to go to the midnight opening tonight to pick up Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin's Creed 2. Hopefully it's not too crowded and I get right in and out fast.

I totally forgot you were going to the midnight release for L4D2. I was wondering why you were online playing MW2 so late last night! I don't usually see you online that late haha. Did you see that I joined in on one of your games for a brief moment? The game ended less than a minute after I joined so I wasn't there long and when we went back to the lobby you had left and went to play something different I think...

How is Assassins Creed 2?

You joined the game? No, I didn't see you. Shit, wish I would have seen ya. I usually back out after games and try different stuff so thats why I left so soon.

AC2 is amazing. I'm shocked. I wasn't even expecting it to be good, I just had extra trade in credits to get it. It's turning out to be one of the better games of the year. I can't put it down. You're going to like it! It's so much more in depth that the first. The first game almost feels like a different genre compared to this one. It's massive, there's so much to do. You get to run a city, upgrade shops, buy your weapons, buy your clothes, dye your clothes, open brothels, buy paintings and decorate your villa, etc. etc. etc. This game is going to be a lot of people's sleeper hit of the year.

Oh, and if you don't already have one, go to uplay.com and sign up for an account. The game links to it and when you get certain achievements, you get points on the site. With those points, you can download extra weapons, items, maps, themes, costumes, etc. It's worth being prepared since signup is easier to do on the PC.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I should have AC2 in today's mail. Today is day 2 since it was mailed from GameFly and I'm praying it doesn't take longer than 2 days!
