Default Assassins Creed 2 Impressions?

I'm probably about half way done with Assassins Creed 2 and it's much better than the first one, so far. Anyone else been playing it at all? What do you think about it? It doesn't feel repetitive like the first.

My big complaint about the first game was the repetitive nature. This was because you had a couple things to do, story missions, pick pocket, assassinate, platforming, and something else. That's it. Plus, when you walked the street, everyone was after you nonstop.

With part 2, they pretty much eliminated the repetitive nature of the game, but by eliminating anything, but rather by adding stuff to it. Where you had maybe 4 things to do over and over in the first game, you now have 14 (making up numbers). You are doing the same thing over and over again, but there's so much to do you don't notice. This is how they should have done the first.

The story is also top notch and Ezio is human as compared Altair. Altair just seemed like a cold blooded killer. Ezio on the other hand looks like a young man who was dealt a bad hand and is now living life a completely different way because of it. I actually feel for him at times and love how he talks to the ladies Even though everything bad happened, he still has time to flirt with the Italian women...my kinda guy.

But yes, I agree, the game is no where near as repetitive as the first and it's one of the best games of the year!

Believe it or not, I actually put down Modern Warfare 2 last night (first time in over a month) and decided to play Assassins Creed 2 for a bit.

Previously, I had only made it through the first two sequences and then sorta stopped playing... until last night. Now that I am further into the game its getting even better! I'm working on renovating the Villa to increase it's value now. This is fun

Anyone else still playing this or recently finish it? I just started sequence 5 so I have a while to go still. There are 14 sequences I believe.

I beat it a couple of weeks ago and can't tell you that it's amazing! The ending is pretty freaking sweet too. If you played the first one, the ending will really ring true. The final boss battle is a bit of a letdown, but they couldn't really make one human more powerful than another because he is human. By the time I finished the game I had the Villa completely upgraded, most feathers, all weapon and armor, and a couple other collectible items. It's a great game and was a runner up in a lot of people's votes for game of the year (with uncharted 2 beating everything).

What happens if you can't get all 200 feathers? Does that girl eventually stop praying anyways? You can just tell me, because I am not going to spend the time trying to find all 200 of them. And I almost have everything fully upgraded. I'm getting about 4,000 florians deposited every 20min so that will pay for everything very soon!

I love all the new attacks there are. Jumping down from a building and assassinating from above with your hidden knife is sweet!

I didn't get all the feathers yet, there's some I can't find. She's still praying though. One day I might go back and try to find the feathers but there are just too many good games coming out.

OK I finished the game this weekend and I think it was a great game! Can't wait for the next installment. You were right about that final boss, it wasn't hard at all, but I'm okay with that

I think in Assassins Creed III we'll be playing as Desmond himself in current time.

I agree. It has to be Desmond because everything is leading up to him. Since the beginning they have been prophesying about him. If they were talking about him in Rennaisance Italy, and he is now alive, something big is going to happen with him. I'm curious how they are going to handle it though. In Ezio's time, you could run on the rooftops and all you would have to worry about is an archer. In today's world though, you've got helicopters, snipers, swat teams, etc. The game would have to take some liberties or become a high stealth game. I don't think I would like a heavy stealth game. I tend to shy away from Splinter Cell and games where you can lose a mission by being seen..

Exclamation Just thought of something!

I think it's eventually going to be Desmond vs. Abstergo in current time. Especially now that Desmond has "learned to fight" and has all the skills acquired from Ezio and Altaïr. However, I'm thinking about this more now and it may not be as simple as that.

We can be back in the Animus again trying to discover more clues. Remember at the end of the game when Minerva is talking to Ezio, and Ezio says he still has a bunch of questions, but she vanishes off into the distance and says, "the rest is up to you"? While she was talking to Ezio the background looked like the universe and showed the sun and other planets.

I'm going to go further and say Assassins Creed III will purposely be released in 2012. But why 2012? Because of the 2012 phenomenon where many people believe life will end. After Minerva speaks to Ezio and Desmond wakes up and escapes, Lucy mentions that Minerva might have been talking about a geomagnetic reversal.

A geomagnetic reversal is one of the 2012 theories that says the Earth's magnetic field will switch positions so North will become South and South will become North. During a geomagnetic reversal the magnetic field becomes extremely weak. At the same time, NASA predicts the next solar maximum will be in 2012. During a solar maximum is when our magnetic field is most important to us since it's our magnetic field which protects us from the sun. This would be a problem for Earth if the magnetic field was weakened during this time because while a solar max is happening the sun is extremely active and there is a large amount of solar activity.
