Sony is going to build a video game phone
According to Japan's Nikkei business daily, next month Sony will begin the design of a "cellphone-game gear hybrid" which will give the iPhone a run for its money! There is a project team that will be set up next month to begin the build of an all-new device that combines the functionality of a Sony Ericsson cell phone with a handheld gaming device. Basically it's going to be something like a "PlayStation Phone". We have all heard these types of rumours before, but the specifics and the source make this one seem true

Cant wait to see this... so it's going to be an actual cell phone like you would regularly be able to use, but its going to have sick games at the same time?

They are still building the PSP2 as far as I know. The phone will be something totally separate. The PSP2 is supposed to be as powerful as the original Xbox.

I read...
So unless this phone thing is distributed way before the PSP2, or is way less expensive, it is pointless to get one. I doubt it will have as much power as an Xbox, and the only real reason to get one if the above two reasons are non-existent, is to have Sony phone. But I doubt that would be useful, because if you can afford to buy one of those things, then you probobly already have a cell phone. |

The PSP2 is actually named the PSPGo and is being released either next month or the month after, I can't remember. Like JP said, it has the same processing power as the original xbox, but will play all the same games as the other PSP. It's not a new system per say, but rather a new iteration.
As for the Sony phone, it would be to go against the IPhone. Don't compare it to the PSP, but rather the IPhone and the way they do games. The PSPGo and a Sony phone would be two totally seperate animals.
