Default Microsoft Using a Little Big Planet Tune?

Well, this is something new. Microsoft release a video about their internet connectivity and there is just something about it that seems...familiar. Is it the girl? No, not the girl. The images? Nah, they are all Microsoft systems. Wait, now I know it...the song. I've heard the song before, and most likely, you have too. The song being played in the video is from Little Big Planet. Why would Microsoft use a song that is so closely knit with another game on another system altogether?

To be fair, the song, "Get It Together" by The Go! Team wasn't written for Little Big Planet. But if you remember all of those ad's that came out right before it's release, it was etched in our minds that Sackboy and this song go together like...two things that go together. It just seems strange that Microsoft would use something like this. There are millions of songs out there and they picked this one? Seems kinda fishy...

Regardless, there are two videos for you watch below. The first one is the Microsoft ad in question and the second is of Little Big Planet...notice anything?

Not even 10 seconds in, I heard the song and I instantly knew it was from LittleBigPlanet. Thus... I automatically associated it with LittleBigPlanet

While... It wasn't written specifically for LittleBigPlanet, the fact still remains. We associate this song with the cute and cuddly Sackboy and all his... "adventures".

It seems like Microsoft is desperate to grab a ticket to the "massive, massive success" train and is using a song that they know garners attention. Don't get me wrong, somehow that song is fitting of the Xbox commercial, but...

Don't think we don't know what you're doing, Microsoft. When LBP used that song, it became THEIR song. We're *watching* you.

Agreed. It's just odd that they decided to go with this. There are so many other songs out there that they could have used and they chose this specific one. When a movie or game uses a song, it kind of belongs to them, because its all about what image it evokes in the person.
