I think there are a few. On the day MW2 came out, apparently there were already people who were prestiged by the evening. Seriously? That's insane.

It's possible I've only put 7 hours into multiplayer so far and I'm a level 24 I think. So if I played for the first 24 hours, straight, then I would have been prestige 1 already hehe.

How does prestige work? Like, I know what it is, but how many levels until you get prestige 1, then is it the same until prestige 2? Any benefits from Prestige 1 vs. Prestige 2,3,4?

I think the max level is 70 for this one. As you know, each time you level up, the icon next to your name changes! Once you get to level 70, that's it... unless you prestige! When you prestige you get a special looking icon next to your name so everyone knows.

And if you choose to prestige you start all over again at level 1. There is actually no benefits to prestige because you lose all of your progress. So all those weapons, attachments, perks, ect. that you unlocked are all gone and it's just as if you never played multiplayer before, only you get the cool icon.

It's the same thing, over and over again all the way to prestige 10.

In COD4 you go to 55 and there is no advantage to go into prestige mode. I was just reading that MW2 its level 70 and you get a special unlockable if you do so there is an advantage.

I did a little more reading and it seams you will get different call signs and emblems as well as more custom class or classes I could find if you would only get one or if you would get more. So no new guns or special attachments cool stuff like that.

Yeah, I could care less about the call signs and emblems, but having extra custom classes is always a nice bonus!
