VG247.com recently spotted a casting call out of LA requesting "voice over/motion capture" for an upcoming Activision video game. The casting call describes one of the characters it's looking to fill as Frank Barnes, a member of an elite Vietnam unit, the
Mulitary Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group.
This group, as VG247 points out, was responsible for covert operations in Vietnam within the time frame of 1964-1972. There has been a lot of news recently around where Treyarch, the developers responsible for the next Call of Duty, would have their game take place. Looking at the characters they are trying to fill, it looks like a safe bet it's going to be in Vietnam.
The list of characters are viewable via the image below, taken from VG247.com, and contains the full casting call for the characters. Looks like some standard fare with a war torn veteran, a late 20's black male that is very physically fit with a creole accent, 15 yr. career veteran, and a russian chick with martial arts expertise. As of this point in the game's development, all we know is that Treyarch will be behind the wheel and that it's not expected to be as big as Modern Warfare 2 was. With the inclusion of a Russian operative with ties behind the iron curtain, maybe the game will have Cold War type influences? Only time will tell. As soon as I find out additional information I'll be sure to pass it along.
