Xbox Block Party Coming Next Month

Microsoft just announced that we will be seeing a "Block Party" of sorta starting next month. The Block Party will span the course of March with a new Xbox Live Arcade Game releasing each week. The games include Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal, Perfect Dark, and Game Room. For those who make the initial plunge and download all titles, they will be rewarded with an additional 400 MS Points (5 bucks). Full pricing and dates are listed below:

March 3rd: Toy Soldiers -1200 points ($15)
March 10: Scrap Metal – 1200 points ($15)
March 17: Perfect Dark – 800 points ($10)
March 24: Game Room – Free to download. Games will cost 240 to 400 MS Points. ($3 - $5)

The games will be released 1 per week with an event taking place after they are all available. On March 26th to March 29th, Silver Members will be able to participate in a free to play weekend to see what all the hubbub is about and for MS to convince them to pony up some money for gold status.

The games are actually pretty solid titles. If you aren't aware, Toy Soldiers is pictured above and involves a war with (you guessed it) Toy Soldiers. Scrap Metal is a top down racer with guns involved. Perfect Dark is a HD rerelease of the original with updated graphics (see image below for one example). Finally, the Game Room is a space where you avatar can go and download old school (I'm talking really old school) games like Pong and Joust to play.
