Default Mass Effect 2 Media

Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of this generation. So, it goes without saying that I'm pretty excited about this upcoming game. If you have even the slightest interest in the game, or if you are still on the fence, check out some of the media below that is released for the game. As new media is released, I'll try to update this thread so we don't have a lot of duplicates.

These videos are shown as they were released. So, the videos up top came first, then the one below, etc.

Mass Effect 2 Teaser

The teaser that started it all. In this video, viewers are shown that Shepard is thought to be dead. As soon as you read it, you are shown a Geth with Shepard's "N7" on the geth's breast plate.

A little trivia for you, N7 is a call sign for the military that Shepard belongs to. N is designated as "Special Forces" and the 7 stands for "7th level proficiency." The scale only goes to 7, so Shepard is the best of the best at what he does.

Mass Effect 2 Trailer

As soon as the teaser was released fans went nuts about Shepard being dead...but at E3, they found out he isn't. In this trailer, you see some familiar faces and some new ones you are going to meet in your travels. The developers later went on to clarify that while Shepard doesn't start the game dead, they aren't saying anything about the end. Well, this lead to some more speculation, which unfortunately, we're going to have to wait to find out what they meant.

Mass Effect 2 Developer Diary

After E3, fans had a lot of questions and the developers answered some of them with this video. For starters, we know we play as Shepard and learn that humans are disappearing across the galaxy. If you remember from the first game, humans are the new kids on the block and are gaining a lot of notoriety, both good and bad. The fact that the humans are disappearing and not other races means a new enemy could be put in place, one that's not only the geth or the reapers.

Mass Effect 2 E3 Hands on Demo

E3 was good to Mass Effect 2. Lots of news was broken and this awesome interview took place with the people at G4 and two of the brains behind Mass Effect. You can see the gameplay being shown while they do the interview and it looks like the Mass Effect we all know and love. Some changes seem evident, like using the PC's HUD instead of the original 360's.

As more videos come out, I'll post them in here for everyone. Hope you enjoy!

UPDATE: Release date confirmed as January 26th, 2010.

Some new videos have also been released, they are below...

Adept Class Reveal

The Adept is the "mage" class in the game. While magic doesn't exist in the Mass Effect universe, genetically enhanced individuals do that have certain biotic powers. The Adept was a class that wasn't used very often in the first game because they didn't provide enough punch. That looks to be changing with the second.

Engineer Class Reveal

Just like the adept, the Engineer wasn't used very much in the first game because your party members could do everything the engineer did and by choosing the class you limited your output of firepower. By adding some flame bullets, freezing powers, and overloads, the engineer looks to be a great class this second go.

GC 09: Omega Trailer

A new krogan joins the gang.

Enemies Developer Diary

My favorite video released so far, the enemies developer diary. By watching this, you can catch a glimpse into not only the enemies you'll fight but how the universe is changing. The Geth, once thought of as the worst threat in the universe (behind the Reapers of course) are overshadowed by more powerful enemies this second time around...and a thinking Geth that's following Shepherd? What the hell?
